As I ponder my thoughts on a question that's been bouncing around in my head for likely over a decade (switch out zebra and replace with llama), it is a privilege to have landed here. It's a privilege to be actively alive in a world and time where there's a Ruth Diaz, Psy.D., a human who asks, guides, teaches, and collaborates on questions that point us to our center, which is human. It is a privilege to be here with others, wondering and working towards those answers.

I started my career as a community builder over a decade ago, and although these were the types of questions needing to be thought of, they weren't even on the radar. The answer, through deep studies and time spent with the DOT Model, is, in part, curiosity and trust. And the magic only the "fantastical, delightful, or shadowy creature" can bring. The creature part is an important ingredient, as are multiple perspectives for a gradient of solutions.

But first... The first part is to want it— it being a space to share pain and heal together. Finding the truth of what healing actually means (and feels like... really feels like) and then committing to doing it... together. Then, get curious with questions and trust the rhythms and creatures (human and otherwise) surrounding us.
